About The Position

We are seeking a Finance Business Partner to join the North America business at Sea to Summit. This role is a true commercial co-pilot, partnering closely with the Generating Demand team, Sales, Marketing and Category to drive commercially sound, profitable decision-making across the region. Rather than acting as a financial controller, this role embeds alongside the commercial teams to shape strategy, challenge assumptions, and translate financial insight into stronger pricing, investment and growth decisions. Working hand-in-hand with the President, North America and commercial leaders, the Finance Business Partner brings analytical expertise, forecasting and scenario modeling to the point of decision, helping steer the P&L toward profitable growth. The purpose of this role is to empower Sales, Marketing and Category to make strong financial decisions, foster commercial accountability, and deliver value-added insight that enhances overall business performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/ Accounting or other relevant field is required
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CMA, or equivalent)
  • 5-7 years of experience in commercial finance or finance business partnering, ideally supporting sales, marketing or commercial teams
  • Hands-on experience in managing budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Proven ability to manage costs, identify savings opportunities, and improve profitability.
  • Past customer exposure, with experience partnering with or supporting customer-facing, sales or commercial teams.
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Ability to align financial strategies with business objectives and provide actionable insights to drive growth and proficiency in analyzing large datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for decision-making.
  • Familiarity with North America-specific regulations, tax laws, and financial reporting standards (including US GAAP and relevant federal and state regulatory requirements across North American markets).
  • Expertise in financial software (e.g., SAP, Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics, or regional ERP systems) and advanced Excel skills.

  • Background in the outdoor, sporting goods or adventure-gear industry is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and managing accurate financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term plans aligned with regional and global business objectives.
  • Analyzing financial performance against forecasts, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Collaborating with the President, North America and commercial leaders across Sales, Marketing and Category to provide financial insights that drive strategic decision-making and profitable growth.
  • Acting as a commercial co-pilot, interpreting data to provide stronger commercial decisions and profitability improvements.
  • Preparing and deliver timely, accurate, and insightful financial reports for the North America region and ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and company policies.
  • Partnering with Sales, Marketing and Category to evaluate the commercial and financial impact of pricing, promotion, range and channel decisions.
  • Building the financial business case for demand-generation initiatives, quantifying expected return on investment, margin and payback.
  • Providing commercial teams with clear, decision-ready analysis so they can make strong, profitable financial choices at speed.
  • Challenging commercial assumptions and steer trade-offs to protect and grow gross margin across North American markets.
  • Conducting financial evaluations for regional projects, investments, and new business opportunities and providing recommendations to ensure alignment with strategic goals and financial viability.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to streamline financial operations and enhance data accuracy.
  • Monitoring and managing financial risks, including currency fluctuations, market changes, and compliance risks specific to the North America region.
  • Building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the North America region and ELT, fostering collaboration and trust.
  • Presenting financial analyses and business insights to leadership teams and global finance counterparts.
