About The Position

Morgan Stanley's Return to Work program is designed for experienced professionals who have taken a career break and are eager to re-enter the workforce. This 16-week paid program, running from January 18, 2027, to May 7, 2027, in New York, places participants in roles aligned with their expertise while offering comprehensive training, mentorship, and professional development. The Finance division partners with global business units, providing analysis and advisory services for the firm's financial and capital resources. Morgan Stanley seeks to build a diverse workforce and is looking for motivated candidates from various industries and skill sets to join their New York-based Return to Work program in Finance Associate roles.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated accountability, ownership, proactiveness, attention to detail, and organization.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment and enhance processes to drive efficiently.
  • Individuals who have been out of the workforce for two or more years. The two-year eligibility requirement will be calculated as of the January 2027 program start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in and familiarity with financial markets and products
  • Previous experience in audit, accounting, controllership, of FP&A
  • Experience with digital tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Alteryx
  • Familiarity with key financial functions, including: Product control, FP&A, Management Reporting, Balance Sheet and Revenue Analysis, Profit and Loss Calculations, Regulatory Reporting & Reconciliation, Financial Products such as stocks, bonds, FX, equities, credit, commodities, IPOs, and global capital Markets

Responsibilities

  • Produce and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly profit and loss reports.
  • Prepare and review balance sheets, income sheets, and financial forecasts.
  • Conduct analysis for budget forecasting, stress testing, and financial modeling.
  • Support business projects, regulatory reporting, and risk management initiatives.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to provide actionable insights and timely reporting.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on financial processes, reporting accuracy, and process improvements.
