About The Position

This internship program is designed to provide interns with real-world experience in finance and accounting operations. Over approximately 10 weeks, interns will develop critical skills in areas such as general ledger management, financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, planning, and insights generation. The program also aims to create networking opportunities and foster professional relationships within the company. The internship involves a combination of virtual and onsite work, supervised by the CFO Leadership Team, and offers a stipend of $22.00 per hour.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Skills in data analysis and financial modeling (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI).
  • Understanding of financial reporting and compliance with standards (GAAP, IFRS).
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Good time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to arrange for interns to sit in on meetings with other departments (e.g., marketing, operations, strategy).
  • Understanding of how finance, business insights, and accounting interact with other areas of the company.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, trends, and business models.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, risk management, and internal controls.
  • Quality and accuracy of work.
  • Ability to handle responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Communication and teamwork skills.
  • Initiative and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement).
  • Support accounts receivable/payable functions.
  • Process journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing.
  • Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare significant account reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Conduct financial analysis and help with risk assessments.
  • Assist with budget preparation and forecasts.
  • Assist with cash flow management and forecasting.
  • Support development and reporting of KPI’s and SaaS metrics.
  • Analyze financial data and assist with trend identification for business insights.
  • Assist in market research, competitive analysis, and customer analytics.
  • Prepare dashboards or visualizations of business insights (Excel, Power BI).
