About The Position

The Finance Analyst II assures the integrity of financial and statistical data by preparing or reviewing general ledger entries, reports, schedules, worksheets, reconciliations, and other analyses. The role works in a team environment to support finance analysts and leadership, communicates and presents information to varied audiences, and uses reporting tools to develop complex management financial information. The analyst may develop expertise in or become the primary owner of a technical process, and interprets and applies Mayo Clinic and governmental finance and accounting policies and procedures.

The role proactively identifies and communicates problems and opportunities, seeks input, and participates in implementing solutions or process improvements. It assists with developing variable-sensitive business models and compliance or fiscal management tools; provides analytical, financial, accounting, and compliance support to department and institutional leadership; and mentors, coaches, and trains staff. This is a hybrid position located within 100 miles of the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, Florida campus to meet on-site expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance, plus at least 3 years of applicable accounting or finance experience; alternatively, a bachelor's degree in another business-related field and at least 5 years of applicable accounting or finance experience.
• A master's degree in Accounting or Finance, an MBA, MHA, CPA (active or inactive), CMA, or CIA may substitute for one year of experience.
• Solid understanding of fundamental accounting and finance concepts, including debits and credits, general ledger activity, financial statements, budgeting, variance analysis, and basic forecasting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, including the ability to organize, analyze, and present financial data.
• Strong analytical, investigational, communication, and relationship-building skills; attention to detail; and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to build constructive working relationships with operational, administrative, and physician leaders; communicate financial information clearly to non-financial audiences; and demonstrate initiative, curiosity, and commitment to learning healthcare finance.
• Must be located within 100 miles of the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, Florida campus for on-site expectations.
