About The Position

Howmet Aerospace, a world leader in investment casting of superalloys, aluminum, and titanium for jet aircraft and industrial gas turbine markets, is hiring a Final Verifier for its Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) group in Hampton, Virginia. The role performs hands-on operations using standardized processes and customer specifications to help manufacture high-tech products safely, accurately, and efficiently. The Final Verifier visually inspects metal castings for dimensional accuracy and surface defects to ensure they meet customer specifications. The scheduled shift is Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; training is also on this shift. The starting rate is $21.65 per hour, increasing to $24.06 per hour after six months. A $1.00-per-hour shift premium applies while assigned to an off shift.

Requirements

Submit an application that includes a resume and two professional references.
High school diploma or GED.
At least two years of continuous related manufacturing experience or training.
Recent high school or college graduates without prior work experience must provide a letter of recommendation.
Availability for all shifts, including second shift, third shift, and weekend shift.
Ability to work overtime and weekends; schedules may vary based on operational needs.
Pass a near-vision exam using the Tumbling E Chart per ISO 18490.
Be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility verification is required at hire.
Be able to lawfully obtain access to export-controlled items. Employment offers are conditioned on this ability.

Responsibilities

Read and follow work instructions.
Record data manually or by computer as required.
Fully inspect castings for imperfections.
Check cores and passages for excess metal or other foreign material that could restrict gas flow, using hand gauges.
Identify some castings with an electric etching tool or engraving vibro-peen tool.
Maintain packing and boxing supplies.
