About The Position

The Final Auditor/Source Auditor is responsible for the final determination of visual acceptance after finishing operations are completed. This role involves dispositioning cores and deciding whether to accept or reject product based on finished product visual acceptance criteria from applicable product requirements and documentation. The position requires interpreting and adhering to customer flow downs, QEI's, and internal procedures, as well as providing general visual inspection assistance and training to other departments. The auditor will also provide feedback to leads, supervisors, and quality personnel regarding quality issues and concerns, and maintain accurate records of auditing activities. Flexibility to work in different areas as needed by management, and a willingness to learn new tasks are essential. The role involves using specific tools and materials, maintaining confidentiality of employee information, and conducting various other inspections and tests to support shipments. Addressing documentation concerns, ensuring proper completion and issuance of Certificates of Conformance (COC's), and maintaining the integrity of mix lots, job numbers, trials, and concessions/deviations are also key responsibilities. Collaboration with shipping and layout teams to maintain organization and ensure all inspections and tests are completed is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the inspection and/or finishing both high-and low-pressure cores preferred
  • Demonstrated accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency when conducting visual audits and other inspections, tests, and related activities.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and adhere to customer flow downs, QEI’s, and relevant internal procedures.
  • Provide general visual inspection assistance and training to other departments as required.
  • Provide feedback to the Lead Inspector, Supervisors, and/or Quality personnel when quality issues and/or concerns arise.
  • Maintain accurate records of auditing activities.
  • Ability to work upon request in area/location deemed necessary by management (finishing houses, business units, etc.).
  • Willingness and ability to learn and perform previous tasks and new assignments.
  • Ability to use blue dye, patch materials, and various tools.
  • Maintain confidential employee information regarding employee performance.
  • Conduct other inspections, tests, and activities needed to support shipments including but not limited to x-ray, laser, block, tack wax, Permabond, visual sorting, gage sorting, and various repairs.
  • Address documentation concerns or other procedural related issues.
  • Ensure COC’s are completed and issued properly for shipments.
  • Ensure integrity of mix lots, job numbers, trials, and/or concessions/deviations through shipment.
  • Work with shipping and layout teams to keep work organized and ensure all inspections and tests are completed as required.
