About The Position

Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Final Assembly Inspector - Level 3 or Level 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within the Launch Systems business unit located in Promontory, UT. Final Assembly Inspector responsibilities cover a wide array of manufacturing areas and a broad variety of processes on inert and energetic materials. Knowledge of overall quality inspection experience with demonstrated knowledge of high reliability workmanship standards with hardware/interfaces typical of the high-tech industry. This position will be on 1st shift. As work demand fluctuates there may be requirements for shift work, overtime, weekends, and holidays. This position will work a 4/10 schedule, with every Friday off. This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience (for Level 3).
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience (for Level 4).
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to pass a BATFE Background investigation
  • Ability to travel 10-15% is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Active Secret Security Clearance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Apply hands-on knowledge of inspection methods and techniques with knowledge of AS9100 (or equivalent) and other related standards.
  • Receiving inspection experience and experience with creating Nonconformances within TipQa.
  • ESD, FOD and Shelf Life Control experience.
  • Experience using inspection hand tooling such as Micrometers, Calipers, and etc.
  • Efficient using Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience working with TipQa, MES, and CostPoint software
  • Hands-on knowledge and experience of inspection methods and techniques, inspection tools, and inspection equipment on inert and energetic materials.
  • Experience with nonconformance procedures.
  • Basic understanding of reading and interpreting model-based drawings.
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time, walk up and down stairs, climb up ladders, reach into tight spaces, and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be comfortable working with and around energetics.
