About The Position

The Filler Operator tends machines used to fill and package pasteurized dairy products. The operator starts and monitors machines, inspects containers and finished products, removes defective containers, and reports malfunctions. Equipment may include 30 Valve, Quart, Nep, Bulk, 18 Valve plastic, and 1/2 Gallon paper fillers. The role follows safety and food-quality standards and performs sensory assessments of finished products. The position is on the first shift, from 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with overtime, weekend, and holiday availability required. Pay is $21.00 per hour. A retention bonus of $1,000 after 90 days and $2,500 after six months is offered, subject to eligibility and terms.

Requirements

• High school diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or international education equivalent.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting 50–60 pounds and pushing or pulling stacks of products weighing up to 200 pounds.
• Ability to taste, smell, see, and feel product samples and consume and evaluate food ingredients, including potential allergens processed in the facility.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines that fill pasteurized products into containers.
• Inspect containers from all lines for seals, labels, weights, dates, and valves; check seals for stains and valves for excess leakage.
• Review each product change on each machine with the lab for approval.
• Observe the flow of milk into machines and remove defective containers.
• Notify the foreman of machine malfunctions.
• Place containers on machines and adjust machines for various container sizes.
• Record weight, date, and label information at 15-minute intervals.
• Follow all safety and food-quality standards.
• Perform organoleptic testing on finished products using taste, smell, touch, and sight.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
