Qualified by certified training modules and methods to set up, operate and maintain two qualified pieces of equipment. This role involves setting up, troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and operating qualified equipment in the Capping and Pasteurizing Department. Performance criteria include safety, production, quality, housekeeping, 5S, training, and teamwork. The position requires monitoring capping quality, adjusting brine flow and line speed, and ensuring adherence to food safety and quality critical limits. The machine operator/mechanic’s absence will be covered by another employee trained to monitor food safety and quality. Daily and weekly operational and pre-operational checks on all equipment are performed, along with record-keeping for downtime and product checks. Cleaning and maintenance of the assigned work area, including equipment PMs, checking oil levels, greasing, and 5S, are also key responsibilities. The role also involves assisting in training seasonal machine laborers, assisting DIN personnel, and occasionally driving a forklift or working on other lines as needed. Participation in training, employee meetings, committees, and project teams is expected. The role receives instructions from the packing schedule or supervisor and performs other work as directed.
