About The Position

JerseySTEM is looking for volunteers to support our mission to provide STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls. Help us plan exciting field trips for students to explore science in the real world. You’ll reach out to companies, museums, and STEM spaces to set up visits. Perfect for anyone who enjoys planning fun, educational experiences. Your typical JerseySTEM week involves (illustrative): ~ 1 hour/day Daily: Check Email, Forward Email, Answer questions by Email for 15mn-30mn Monday: Meet with the Curriculum Team to discuss current venues/opportunities Tuesday: Research new venues, make a few phone calls to enquire about a venue Wednesday: Draft email to teacher/school administrator about an incoming fields trip for their students; make sure paperwork in place; permission slips,... Thursday: Draft a request for Quote from specific venues Friday: Have 1:1 call with the JerseySTEM Corporate Development team No Travel or in-person required, unless interested.

Requirements

  • Enjoy planning fun, educational experiences.
  • Ability to commit approximately six flexible hours per week for a minimum of six months.
  • Access to email for daily communication.

  • Draft emails to teachers/school administrators about incoming field trips.
  • Ensure paperwork and permission slips are in place.
  • Draft requests for quotes from specific venues.
  • Have 1:1 calls with the JerseySTEM Corporate Development team.
