About The Position

This is a part-time temporary job for Level 1 and Level 2 Desktop Technicians responsible for desktop setup in various buildings in New York and Jersey City. The shift is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Training will be provided. Level 1 technicians will distribute and stage desks with necessary equipment, including monitors, VDI, cameras, and peripherals, documenting their work in SmartSheets. Level 2 technicians will install all equipment staged by the Level 1 team, documenting successful installations and any errors in SmartSheets.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Positive and professional demeanor.
  • Able to identify, analyze and resolve basic troubleshooting items but defers to supervisor or Level 1 tech for more complex hardware issues.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, troubleshoot desktop and workstation equipment and software, including telephones, desktop/laptop computers (Microsoft and Apple) and printers.
  • Handle equipment installation and moves with little or no supervision.
  • Identify, analyze and resolve basic troubleshooting items, deferring more complex hardware issues to a supervisor or Level 2 technician.
  • Work well under supervision.
  • Install all the equipment that has been staged by the Level 1 Team.
  • Document work within provided SmartSheets link: what equipment was successfully installed and any errors that occur.
  • Distribute and stage each desk with the necessary equipment.
  • Document within provided SmartSheets link: what equipment has been staged at what desk.
