About The Position
The Field Technology Specialist (Construction) role at PCL Construction Services, Inc. focuses on promoting and supporting the adoption of technology solutions at district jobsites. This position is crucial for enhancing efficiencies through new processes and emerging technologies. The specialist will work closely with operational project teams to identify innovations, challenges, and solutions, while also building strong working relationships with project and district teams. This role provides implementation support for corporate and regional initiatives, manages jobsite technology setup and maintenance, and administers server resources to ensure optimal operation. Additionally, the specialist is responsible for developing and delivering technical training and resolving user-reported problems according to company procedures. Requirements
- Eight or more years of progressive experience in a related field.
- Intermediate understanding of networking standards.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts clearly and concisely.
- Advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a focus on proactive solutions.
- Organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize own work and delegate simple tasks.
- Results oriented and has project management experience.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
- Must be able to lift over 40 lbs. as part of regular job duties.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's or associate degree in computer technology or a related discipline preferred.
Responsibilities
- Promote the adoption of technology solutions at district jobsites including deployment, ongoing support, and training.
- Be engaged in the adoption of new processes and emerging technologies that enhance efficiencies.
- Actively seek out issues, problems, and opportunities, and create solutions.
- Work with operational project teams to identify innovations, challenges, issues and solutions.
- Build working relationships with project and district teams.
- Provide implementation support on corporate and regional initiatives.
- Jobsite setup and maintenance for various technologies and infrastructure, including remote support.
- Administer and monitor district office and construction sites server resources and technology solutions to ensure optimal operation and respond to issues.
- Plan, create and deliver technical training and other knowledge resources.
- Resolve user-reported problems through timely logging of issues, resolution to problems, following the companies’ procedures and policies.
- Assist other team members with technical issues.
