About The Position

SOCOTEC is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to perform field testing and inspection of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials on construction projects. The role involves documenting test results and supporting quality control efforts. The technician follows applicable standards, project requirements, company safety procedures, and industry standards while working in the field. Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction materials testing, quality control inspection, or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of standard test methods for soils, concrete, and asphalt.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Clark County interview completion/approvals required.

Nice To Haves

• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I certification.
• NAQTC Sampling and Density certification.
• Radiation/Nuclear Gauge Safety certification.
• Additional ICC, NAQTC, NICET, or related construction inspection certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.
• Conduct quality control inspections on construction sites and document observations.
• Prepare accurate field reports, test results, and supporting project documentation.
• Maintain field and laboratory records and ensure data is complete and organized.
• Communicate test results and observations to project managers, contractors, and clients.
• Follow company safety procedures and industry standards while working in the field.
• Assist with additional testing, inspection, and project-related duties as assigned.
