About The Position

Pape’ Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Field Mechanic to join their team in Salem, OR. This role involves working on agriculture equipment at customer locations, ensuring accurate and timely repairs to keep equipment running in peak form and maximize customer uptime. Requirements

• 3 or more years of experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment, preferably Agriculture equipment.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Self-motivation.
• Ability to work under little or no supervision.
• Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
• Driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Must provide own tools.

Nice To Haves

• CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing and diagnosing agriculture equipment malfunctions or failures in the field.
• Repairing, replacing, or rebuilding engines, transmissions, carburetors, final drives, steering, clutches, cross shafts, hydraulic components (including pump motors, valves, and related components), electrical systems, and air systems.
• Performing welding and fabrication work as needed.
• Interacting with customers to ensure satisfaction with repairs.
