This position assists with the treatment and disposal of waste and maintains operational areas within and surrounding the stabilization plant and landfill according to federal, state and local regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Some environmental services industry experience preferred.
- Some hazardous waste control experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Driving record that meets company standards and current DMV printout, required.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Confined Space Entry certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Promotes and fosters safety and efficiency in all Hub employees and activity.
- Maintains clean work area.
- Follows safety regulations and company guidelines.
- Physical requirements include have the ability to do repetitive heavy lifting, (75-100 lbs.), pulling, dragging, digging, etc., be able to operate conveyors, crushers, vibrating screens, pumps, air pollution control equipment, off road trucks, and vacuum trucks all while wearing Level C PPE (respirator, coveralls, steel toe shoes, gloves, hard hat, safety goggles/glasses).
- Unload waste into the stabilization plant or landfill after receiving approval.
- Visually inspect waste loads during off-loading for non-conformance to waste acceptance conditions and report non-conformity to the Operation’s Supervisor for further direction.
- Visually inspect waste container off-loading to ensure the waste is completely removed from the truck. Report any material remaining inside the container to the Operation’s Supervisor for their disposition.
- Sample incoming containerized loads and treated loads according to the Waste Analysis Plan and submit samples to the laboratory for analysis.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
