This position assists with the treatment and disposal of waste and maintains operational areas within and surrounding the stabilization plant and landfill according to federal, state and local regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Some environmental services industry experience preferred.
  • Some hazardous waste control experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Driving record that meets company standards and current DMV printout, required.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Confined Space Entry certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes and fosters safety and efficiency in all Hub employees and activity.
  • Maintains clean work area.
  • Follows safety regulations and company guidelines.
  • Physical requirements include have the ability to do repetitive heavy lifting, (75-100 lbs.), pulling, dragging, digging, etc., be able to operate conveyors, crushers, vibrating screens, pumps, air pollution control equipment, off road trucks, and vacuum trucks all while wearing Level C PPE (respirator, coveralls, steel toe shoes, gloves, hard hat, safety goggles/glasses).
  • Unload waste into the stabilization plant or landfill after receiving approval.
  • Visually inspect waste loads during off-loading for non-conformance to waste acceptance conditions and report non-conformity to the Operation’s Supervisor for further direction.
  • Visually inspect waste container off-loading to ensure the waste is completely removed from the truck. Report any material remaining inside the container to the Operation’s Supervisor for their disposition.
  • Sample incoming containerized loads and treated loads according to the Waste Analysis Plan and submit samples to the laboratory for analysis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
