About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineering student or graduate with a passion for Transportation Engineering, Design, and Construction to join Dillon's Transportation Infrastructure Discipline. The role involves working on new and exciting projects within Winnipeg and across Manitoba, gaining valuable exposure and experience in the consulting engineering industry. This is a full-time, two-month opportunity running through September and October, based out of the Winnipeg office, with project opportunities across the province including Brandon and Northern Manitoba.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in or completed a degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or Construction Management program
Strong verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial/industry engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements is considered an asset
Survey experience with Total Station, GPS, Drones, and Rod/Level is considered an asset

Responsibilities

Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including engineers, planners, scientists, and technical and administrative support staff
Coordinate and complete field assessments and information gathering
Conduct Topographic survey using modern technologies (Total Station, GPS & Drones)
Conduct road construction inspection as part of a team
Perform construction layout of horizontal alignments and vertical profiles for detailed surveys on projects including highways, urban streets, railways, bridges and other engineering works as part of a team.
Conduct quantity measurements and calculations
Assist with the preparation of contract documents such as progress estimates, change in work orders, site instructions, and meeting minutes.
