About The Position

This position averages 30 - 40+ hours/week. The Field Technician I enhances the effectiveness of the forensic department by assisting the professional engineers in the completion of field work and other related tasks. Requirements

  • Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license and driving record that meet the company’s guidelines.
  • Possesses and maintains a drone pilot certification or obtains such certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Demonstrates and applies a basic understanding of construction methods and engineering principles.
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and experience in Microsoft Office are required.
  • Must demonstrate a basic understanding of construction methods, building material terminology, and forensic engineering principles.
  • Must have the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and time demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to learn and become proficient in new technologies and possess an elevated attention to detail.
  • Able to consistently identify and correct errors, maintain organized work and workspaces, work independently and collaboratively, and demonstrate a high level of professionalism.

  • Must be able to lift a weight of fifty (50) pounds unaided; lift, erect, and climb a ladder; maneuver on a rooftop, in an attic, and within a crawl space below a building.
  • May sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to reach, grasp, feel, and see up close and from afar.
  • Use of personal protective equipment such as respirator masks, harnesses, and specialized clothing, footwear, etc. is necessary.
  • Use of basic office computer hardware and peripherals, with or without reasonable accommodations, is necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Construction or related experience is preferred.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Safely drives to and from site visits at agreed-upon times.
  • Executes proper ladder setup and break down and assists the engineer with the distribution and collection of tools on site.
  • Follows directives to accurately document site conditions in relevant applications.
  • Uploads high-resolution photos and syncs application records in a timely manner.
  • Creates drone photo pages.
  • Operates 3D scanning devices, such as iGUIDE and/or Matterport, and uploads and stitches data in a timely manner.
  • Performs additional tasks and is available for overnight travel as assigned.
