About The Position

Sunbelt Fire is seeking a self-starting Field Technician to join its Breathing Air Team and serve customers in South Alabama and Mississippi. The role involves field service, customer interaction, and maintenance and repair of SCBA equipment and breathing air compressors, helping ensure firefighters have safe, properly functioning equipment. Technicians perform work according to manufacturer and safety standards and document service activities. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with the opportunity for overtime. Overnight stays are expected depending on job location.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment maintenance or repair.
• Ability to follow manufacturer procedures and safety standards.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage field service schedules and documentation.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, repair, and flow-test SCBA equipment in accordance with manufacturer standards.
• Conduct SCBA testing using PosiChek testing systems and perform respirator fit testing using Quantifit equipment.
• Maintain, inspect, and repair breathing air compressors in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, including Bauer equipment.
• Collect and submit breathing air samples for testing and ensure proper installation of hoses and fittings.
• Maintain customer relationships, confirm service appointments, and communicate job details.
• Perform warranty repairs and accurately document work performed and related service details.
• Maintain service vehicle inventory of SCBA and compressor parts and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles and ensure they comply with safety standards.
• Complete and submit service documentation, inspection reports, and expense reports accurately and on time.
• Provide customers with service documentation and reports upon completion of work.
