About The Position

Ecolab's Nalco Water division is seeking a Field Technician in Wentzville, MO. This role is ideal for a passionate technical professional who enjoys customer interaction and autonomous, hands-on work. The Field Technician will monitor and maintain air and water quality systems, provide problem-solving support to customers, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. The position involves operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting facility processes, performing lab sample testing and analysis, conducting daily quality analysis, providing routine and special application service, logging and reporting data, maintaining product inventories, and troubleshooting/maintaining systems. A key aspect of the role is using a fluke meter and operating a test stand to verify air and fluid leaks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude
  • Mechanical problem-solving experience (e.g. plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and/or mechanical experience)
  • Strong customer service skills; proven ability to interface positively and professionally with the customer
  • Analyze readings and put data in a spreadsheet in a logical manner
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 pounds chest high
  • Wearing and using a respirator under certain conditions
  • Working in a variety of conditions including confined spaces, damp/dusty areas, and extreme temperatures
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, balancing, walking, standing, climbing
  • Working indoors and outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working independently in an industrial setting
  • Previous experience in Industrial Wastewater Treatment or Maintenance
  • Previous experience explaining results of data gatherings

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and trouble-shoot the facility and its processes in accordance with established procedures
  • Perform testing on lab samples, analyze and record results and data in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
  • Perform daily process application quality analysis using small intricate parts
  • Provide routine and special application service support to customers
  • Execute required chemistry tests
  • Log and report data
  • Maintain product inventories
  • Provide technical support to customers
  • Troubleshoot and maintain systems as needed
  • Use a fluke meter to check sensitivity
  • Operate a test stand verifying air and fluid leaks
