About The Position
CERTERRA is hiring a full-time Construction Materials Testing/Field Tech Inspector for its Reno, Nevada office. Working as part of an experienced team, the technician will perform construction-materials testing and inspection on a variety of projects, including evaluating soils, concrete, and asphalt as they relate to site construction. The position involves field and laboratory work, coordination with clients and engineering personnel, documentation and basic analysis of findings, and maintaining equipment and quality and safety standards. Travel to client facilities is required as needed. Experience with airfield pavement construction or landfill construction quality control/assurance is a plus.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Educational or professional background in construction inspection services.
- Experience evaluating soils, concrete, and asphalt as they relate to site construction.
- Report-writing and computer skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift 40–50 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- ACI certifications (preferred but not required).
- Experience in airfield pavement construction.
- Experience in landfill construction quality control/assurance.
Responsibilities
- Perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials.
- Maintain required certifications.
- Coordinate with clients and Certerra/Insight Group engineering and professional staff.
- Travel to client facilities as needed.
- Write reports and use computer tools to document work.
- Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
- Perform basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.
- Communicate information to the Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the Project Manager.
- Assist higher-level technicians with complex tasks.
- Maintain assigned equipment and related calibration.
- Follow safety rules, practices, and other safety requirements on all projects.
- Maintain quality standards on all projects.
