About The Position

CERTERRA is hiring a full-time Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Inspector in Reno, Nevada. The role is suited to someone interested in a fast-paced consulting environment, able to travel as needed, and effective as part of a collaborative team. The position involves applying testing and inspection capabilities to a variety of construction projects and working with Certerra/Insight Group engineering and professional staff. Salary is commensurate with experience and is described as a combination of pay rate, benefits, and bonuses.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Educational or professional background in construction inspection services.
Experience evaluating soils, concrete, and asphalt as they relate to site construction.
Report-writing and computer skills.
Ability to lift 40–50 pounds.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to travel to client facilities as needed.

Nice To Haves

ACI certifications.
Experience in airfield pavement construction.
Experience in landfill construction quality control/assurance.

Responsibilities

Conduct field and laboratory testing of construction materials.
Maintain required certifications.
Coordinate with clients and Certerra/Insight Group engineering and professional staff.
Travel to client facilities as needed.
Write reports and use computer applications to document findings and results.
Perform basic data analysis to verify accuracy before communicating and submitting results to the Project Manager.
Communicate information to the Project Manager and other personnel as directed.
Assist higher-level technicians with complex tasks.
Maintain assigned equipment and related calibration.
Follow safety rules, practices, and other project safety requirements.
Maintain quality standards on all projects.
