About The Position

Riggs Cat Power & Energy is hiring Field Technicians at two levels. PM/Test Technicians perform preventive maintenance, load bank testing, and inspections on generator sets and switchgear. Oil & Gas / Industrial Technicians diagnose, overhaul, and maintain gas and diesel industrial engines used in oil and gas compression and power applications, ranging from G3600 and G3500 engines to C9 and 3300-series engines, including frac pump engines. At both levels, technicians work on running equipment at client sites. Level 1 PM/Test Technicians support commissioned power systems through hands-on preventive maintenance and testing. They maintain generator sets and switchgear, conduct load bank tests and inspections, service automatic transfer switches, work with low- and medium-voltage switchgear and EMCP generator control panels, diagnose issues found during maintenance, and document findings. Level 2 Oil & Gas / Industrial Technicians provide specialized field service for oil and gas power fleets. They diagnose and troubleshoot gas and diesel engines, service electronically and mechanically controlled engines, perform top-end and major overhauls, support G3600 and G3500 applications, installation, and performance work, apply failure analysis to determine repair plans, and follow a structured diagnostic method. The position requires field work, including periodic travel for training and in-territory work for Level 2. Technicians must be able to pass work-related physical demands and drive for extended periods. The work may involve moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, vibration, and usually moderate noise. The position is non-exempt and hourly. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
