Field Technician — PM & Test, Oil & Gas / Industrial

JA Riggs Tractor Company•Little Rock, AR

About The Position

Riggs Cat Power & Energy is hiring Field Technicians at two levels: Level 1 PM/Test Tech and Level 2 Oil & Gas / Industrial Tech. Both levels work on running equipment at client sites. Level 1 PM/Test Techs perform preventive maintenance and inspections on generator sets and switchgear, set up and run load bank tests, service automatic transfer switches, work with low- and medium-voltage switchgear, and use EMCP generator control panels at a basic level. They diagnose issues found during preventive maintenance and document findings for clients and internal tracking. The role builds on electric power fundamentals and disciplined, hands-on maintenance and testing. Level 2 Oil & Gas / Industrial Techs diagnose, overhaul, and maintain gas and diesel industrial engines used in oil and gas compression and power applications. Equipment ranges from G3600 and G3500 engines down to C9 and 3300-series engines, including frac pump engines. Work includes troubleshooting, tuning, major overhauls, application and performance support, failure analysis, and structured diagnostics. This role is the field technical backbone of the Oil & Gas (Power) fleets. The employer describes both roles as requiring disciplined, thorough, methodical, detail-oriented, safety-first work. Technicians must be comfortable working independently in the field and documenting findings clearly. The position is non-exempt and hourly. The job description may change as employer needs and job requirements change.
