The Field Technician is responsible for conducting machine performance and diagnostic tests, interpreting results, and making independent decisions regarding machine repair. This role involves using troubleshooting methods to repair and diagnose machine and attachment failures, adhering to time requirement guidelines (TRG) standards, and adapting knowledge of Caterpillar machine systems to new equipment models. The technician will perform work in the field, shop, or at customer locations, which may include overtime and overnight assignments. Key responsibilities include repairing machines efficiently, handling warranty and service letter issues, utilizing web-based tools like STW, SIS, and ET, and conducting business professionally while maintaining self-control and integrity in stressful situations. The role also requires adhering to customer requirements, ordering and evaluating parts, completing service reports and paperwork daily, and communicating repair status to customers. Safety advocacy and adherence to all safety policies are paramount. The technician may also participate in training and support organizational initiatives, working within the company's vision, mission, and values.
