About The Position

Midwest Compressor Systems is seeking a motivated Field Technician to join our growing team. This role involves inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing natural gas compressors and related equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and responding to service calls. The technician will also maintain and manage a field service truck and inventory, build and maintain strong customer relationships, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations. For Technician II & III roles, responsibilities extend to installing, commissioning, and decommissioning compressor units, diagnosing complex issues, and interpreting blueprints and wiring diagrams.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Ability to travel up to 30% and participate in on-call rotation
Strong communication and basic computer skills
Ability to work extended hours which may include evening, weekends and holidays, when necessary
Some overnight travel required
1–2 years of experience with natural gas compression equipment (Technician II)
3–5 years of field service compressor experience (Technician III)

Nice To Haves

Industry training in natural gas compression, I&E, diesel mechanic, or HVAC.

Responsibilities
