About The Position

Sunstate Equipment Co. is seeking a Field Technician III (Field Mechanic III) to join their team. This role is for individuals who value safety and people, and the company emphasizes taking care of its employees. The position offers competitive pay dependent on experience, with weekly pay and a potential quarterly branch performance bonus. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime eligibility. Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic with a construction equipment or equipment rental background.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, Tier 4, and aftertreatment systems.
• Experience repairing construction equipment, including generators, rollers, and earthmoving equipment.
• Must provide own tools, averaging $10,000+ in value.
• Basic computer skills for work orders, parts ordering, and service documentation.
• Ability to inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair equipment to manufacturer specifications.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, integrity, and a team-first mindset.
• Stable work history with a commitment to long-term career growth preferred.

• Military experience is welcomed when it includes heavy equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair equipment to manufacturer specifications.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, Tier 4, and aftertreatment systems.
• Repair construction equipment, including generators, rollers, and earthmoving equipment.
• Complete work orders, order parts, and document service information using basic computer skills.
