Field Technician III
About The Position
Sunstate Equipment Co. is seeking a Field Technician III (Field Mechanic III) to join their team. This position offers competitive pay, paid weekly, with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime eligibility. The pay is dependent on experience and includes a discretionary quarterly branch performance bonus. Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic with a construction equipment or equipment rental background.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, Tier 4, and aftertreatment systems.
- Experience repairing construction equipment, including generators, rollers, and earthmoving equipment.
- Must provide own tools, averaging $10,000+ in value.
- Basic computer skills for work orders, parts ordering, and service documentation.
- Ability to inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair equipment to manufacturer specifications.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, integrity, and a team-first mindset.
- Stable work history with a commitment to long-term career growth preferred.

- Military experience is welcomed when it includes heavy equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair equipment to manufacturer specifications.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, Tier 4 systems, and aftertreatment systems.
- Repair construction equipment, including generators, rollers, and earthmoving equipment.
- Complete work orders, order parts, and document service information using basic computer skills.
