Requirements

  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
  • Solid interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math, calculator, and computer skills.
  • Ability to read and understand work plans.
  • Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record.
  • Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds (occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance).
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication (hearing) and make sound discriminations.
  • Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold).
  • Ability to climb occasionally.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Experience performing field and/or construction materials testing and/or inspections is preferred.
  • ACI/ICC/TDOT certifications are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs field inspections and construction materials testing to ensure conformance with construction plans and specifications.
  • Prepares inspection daily reports and testing data sheets.
  • Performs a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision or detailed controlled procedures.
  • Operates testing equipment and conducts testing (e.g., soil, concrete).
  • Provides assessment of data through reporting.
  • Works utilizing drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
  • Uses specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks.
  • Makes detailed observations and provides limited interpretation of results.
  • Maintains detailed documentation and data from test results.
  • Operates a calculator to compute mathematical test results.
  • Communicates effectively with clients and project teams.
  • Adheres to safety practices and policies to ensure personal and others' safety.
