About The Position

Intertek is seeking an Entry-Level Field Technician to join their Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in La Porte, Texas. This role offers an opportunity to build a career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry. Intertek-PSI is a leading US-based provider of construction assurance, testing, and inspection services, offering a broad range of services including construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and reliable driving record.
• Must be able to work off-shift and overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication (hearing) and to make discriminations in sound.
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
• Ability to climb occasionally and work at various heights.
• Ability to work over-night hours and off-shift.
• Must pass a hair follicle drug test (La Porte office is a petrochemical office).

Nice To Haves

• 6 months construction/laborer experience
• Construction Materials Testing experience highly desired
• Plant access

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision or from detailed controlled procedures.
• Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (e.g., soil, concrete).
• Provide assessment of data through reporting.
• Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
• Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities.
• Give limited interpretation of results.
• Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
