About The Position

Patriot Environmental Services provides industrial, emergency response, and remediation services throughout the Western United States. The Field Technician 1 helps carry out emergency response cleanup and related environmental services, with safety, customer service, quality, and professionalism as priorities. The work includes cleanup of spills and hazardous or non-hazardous materials, operation of cleanup equipment, hazardous-substance handling, facility support, and housekeeping. The role can involve long hours, overtime, day, night, or weekend shifts, and answering 24/7 emergency response calls while on uncontrolled standby.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Driving record meeting company standards and a current DMV printout.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Strong attention to detail and meticulous work habits.
• Safety-conscious approach.
• Patience.
• Flexibility in response to fast-paced changes.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Some environmental services industry experience.
• Some hazardous waste control experience.
• Confined Space Entry certification.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safe work practices, policies, and processes, and make health and safety the top priority.
• Perform emergency response cleanup, including chemical and water spills, non-hazardous and hazardous waste, toxic materials, and equipment decontamination.
• Sweep, dig, shovel, lift, pressure wash, and handle drums to support cleanup activities.
• Operate equipment used in hazardous waste cleanup activities.
• Follow policies and procedures for controlling and storing hazardous substances.
• Attend required safety training and comply with the Random Drug Testing Program.
• Perform housekeeping, custodial, facility maintenance, truck unloading, and other ancillary duties.
• Answer 24/7 emergency response calls while on uncontrolled standby.
• Work long hours and overtime during day, night, or weekend shifts.
• Perform other reasonable duties or activities as assigned.
