About The Position

New Era Technology is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial cooling equipment at customer sites. The role involves working with electrical and mechanical equipment, diagnosing technical problems, replacing components, and verifying that equipment operates properly after service. The technician also completes service reports, provides professional customer service onsite, and travels to customer locations as needed.

This is a full-time position, typically working Monday through Friday on 8-hour shifts. Occasional overtime and on-call support may be required. Travel may be up to 20% as needed. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and standing, bending, and kneeling at customer locations.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience repairing or maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment, HVAC systems, manufacturing equipment, automation systems, compressors, pumps, generators, or similar machinery.
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
• Experience working on 200–440V electrical equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Comfortable replacing electrical and mechanical components.
• Able to work independently in the field.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, and kneel while working at customer locations.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with HVAC equipment, industrial maintenance, or electro-mechanical equipment.
• Basic knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment.
• Experience with motors, sensors, actuators, servos, pumps, compressors, or data center cooling systems.
• A technical degree, trade school, military training, or vocational training; this is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Install, start up, and service cooling equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
• Replace faulty components, including motors, sensors, relays, switches, actuators, and other parts.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Read electrical wiring diagrams and basic technical drawings.
• Test equipment and verify proper operation after repairs.
• Complete service reports after each visit.
• Provide professional customer service while working onsite.
• Travel to customer locations when needed.
