About The Position

RESA Power is hiring Field Tech and Senior Field Tech personnel to service, test, troubleshoot, commission, and maintain electrical power transmission and distribution equipment and systems, including low-, medium-, and high-voltage systems up to 500 kV. Work includes protective relaying, switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, cables, controls, and transfer schemes. Technicians inspect equipment, perform start-up and repair work, collect and evaluate test data, and document testing and maintenance activities. Relay-related work may include developing procedures, functional and end-to-end testing, creating test macros and routines, and reviewing relay settings and logic against design requirements. The role may involve different technician levels. Tech II generally performs testing and service under direct supervision. Tech III may mentor and lead less-experienced technicians, manage routine and moderately complex tasks and projects, evaluate test data, and take responsibility for others’ safety; the role may also provide guidance and perform electrical power switching. Tech IV may independently conduct complex investigations and evaluations, prepare reports, supervise large projects and multiple crews, and lead and mentor technicians. The position requires safe, compliant work, customer service, effective communication, dependable follow-through, and collaboration with customers, peers, and management. It is full-time, nationwide, and involves up to 75–90% travel. Emergency on-call duty rotates among technicians, who must respond promptly to customer emergencies when called. Pay is $25–$65 per hour depending on skills, certification, and experience, with overtime eligibility. Daily meal and incidentals per diem are available for overnight travel. Relocation assistance is available for highly qualified candidates. The position remains open until filled; one full-time equivalent is sought.
