About The Position

Collins Aerospace is hiring for a Field Service Technician to support our 2nd Shift. This role provides technical support while coordinating activities with aircraft OEMs and airline customers. The technician will provide support to customers in solving technical problems incurred in the installation or operation of company products, consult with customers regarding pre and post-installation problems, and may review customer equipment interface requirements. The role involves familiarizing customers with the maintenance and use of their products and drawings, troubleshooting and diagnosing system/equipment interfaces problems during installations, and performing preventive maintenance, modifications, and field changes to installed equipment as necessary. Support will also be provided in the conduct and performance of equipment/system acceptance testing following installation. The technician will use applicable drawings and tools to troubleshoot problems, ensure all necessary documentation is correct and completed for works carried, and that all systems are updated and reflect current status against the daily work plan. Additionally, the role assists engineering in determining and solving equipment design problems, evaluating product performance, and conducting field trials. Travel independently when needed to other locations to work in support of products is also a requirement. The position requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, and to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. The technician will present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public, and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables is essential.

Requirements

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with electrical and systems troubleshooting in aerospace of equivalent environment
  • This position frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing, as well as vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and focus adjustment
  • The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Responsibilities
