About The Position

Collins Aerospace is hiring for a Field Service Technician to support our 1st Shift. 1st Shift Hours: 6:00am - 2:30pm. This role provides technical support while coordinating activities with aircraft OEMs and airline customers. It demonstrates behaviors in line with Collins Leadership Behaviors and Values. The position provides support to customers in solving technical problems incurred in the installation or operation of company products; consults with customers regarding pre and post-installation problems; and may review customer equipment interface requirements. The role may familiarize customers with the maintenance and use of their products and drawings. The Field Service Technician troubleshoots and diagnoses system/equipment interfaces problems during installations, performs preventive maintenance, modifications, and field changes to installed equipment as necessary, and provides support in the conduct and performance of equipment/system acceptance testing following installation. The technician will use applicable drawings and tools to troubleshoot problems, ensure all necessary documentation is correct and completed for works carried, and that all systems are updated and reflect current status against daily work plan (Velocity/CMES, WUC’s). The role assists engineering in determining and solving equipment design problems, evaluating product performance, and conducting field trials. The position may require independent travel to other locations to work in support of products. The Field Service Technician will read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; and present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. The role requires defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions, as well as interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.

Requirements

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with electrical and systems troubleshooting in aerospace of equivalent environment
  • This position frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing, as well as vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and focus adjustment
  • The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
