About The Position

The Field Support & Development Technician plays a dual role in supporting customer deployments and contributing to the development and testing of prototype systems. This position requires a hands-on technician with strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to work directly with customers, and experience in assembling and validating hardware and software solutions. This role supports customer demonstrations, installations, and technical engagements, while also contributing to the design, assembly, and testing of prototype systems and components.

Requirements

2+ years of experience in a technical support or prototyping role.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, Electronics, or related field.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time for customer visits and field support.
Ability to read, comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.
Ability to use Industrial Math Skills with proficiency.
Arithmetic
Basic Geometry
Basic Statistics
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

Assist with on-site and remote installations, configurations, and technical support for customers.
Conduct product demonstrations and provide technical guidance during customer engagements.
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in customer environments.
Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to ensure successful deployments and customer satisfaction.
Document field activities, issues, and resolutions for internal tracking and improvement.
Assemble and test prototype systems, including mechanical, electrical, and software components.
Interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
Support R&D efforts by providing feedback on prototype performance and usability.
Maintain lab tools, equipment, and inventory for prototype development.
Assist in refining build processes and contributing to product documentation.
Performs other duties, as assigned.
