About The Position

DigDeep is seeking a collaborative, organized, analytical, and detail-oriented Field Supervisor to join their team. This role reports to the Project Manager (PM) and works closely with them to ensure project priorities align with the organization's Work Plan. The Field Supervisor must be adept at assessing daily/weekly tasks and adjusting them based on project needs. They will work closely with Water & Solar Technicians (W&S Technicians) and interact with community members, donors, press, and internal teams. The position requires strong supervision, scheduling, and task delegation skills, as well as experience liaising between internal and external stakeholders while balancing project needs.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
At least 3+ years of applicable professional experience required
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Google Workspace, Quickbooks required
Able to focus in the face of pressure, deliver against timelines and not be intimidated by tasks/time limitations
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills required
In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, machinery, heavy equipment, and OSHA/NOSHA guidelines
Understanding and appreciation of occupational safety and health principles, regularly fostering and contributing to a safe working environment
Understanding of electrical and plumbing systems
High levels of trustworthiness, discretion, and professional demeanor
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Flexible and adaptable, with proven ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, and adjust when necessary, quickly and efficiently
Good physical condition; able to lift 25 lbs
Experience/Willingness to work across various cultural contexts and communicating across cultural differences

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent professional experience preferred
Experience in construction, plumbing, carpentry, electrician fields or similar trade preferred
Diploma/Certification in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter, plumber, etc.) preferred
Proven experience as construction foreman preferred
Deep knowledge of construction industry, or other trade preferred
Experience with Slack, Asana, Zoom preferred
Experience with other scheduling and time management software preferred
Proven ability to organize and plan a work schedules for teams
Fluency/strong proficiency in the Navajo language preferred
Willingness to travel, including but not limited to: Navajo Nation (AZ/NM/UT), West Virginia, Texas, DigDeep HQ, and additional locations as needed

Responsibilities

Create work schedules for, and monitor attendance of, W&S Technicians
Allocate daily tasks and site work of W&S Technicians according to project priorities and plans
Support Project Manager in overall planning as it aligns to short-term project priorities and goals
Delegate individual responsibilities and projects to W&S Technicians
Supervise and train new and current W&S Technicians as needed
Ensure manpower and resources are adequate to complete daily and short-term projects, and to meet safety needs and ensure best practices
Oversee and supervise the use of machinery and heavy equipment
Understanding and appreciation of occupational safety and health principles, regularly fostering and contributing to a safe working environment
Ensure all safety precautions and quality standards are met by providing training and guidance as needed in a variety of areas, including, but not limited to: safe use of tools, machinery, safety gear, hard hats, and heavy equipment
Complete assigned health and safety trainings, including, but not limited to: OSHA 30, reasonable suspicion, etc., before beginning field work required, and as assigned (including review sessions) throughout employment
Oversee site installations; traveling from site to site to ensure installations are on track to completion and to support crew with any guidance needed
Regularly monitor inventory, proactively ordering supplies before levels are low
Perform routine quality control checks on installations
Troubleshoot and problem solve minor daily, onsite issues when needed
When PM is not present, resolve minor conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably between crew members; informing PM immediately
Act as a liaison between crew and Project Manager
Act as liaison between DigDeep and community members, answering questions, providing reassurance and clarity as needed
Support PM in performance management and annual reviews of W&S Technicians
Regularly report project status to the Project Manager
