About The Position

Airgas is hiring a Field Supervisor in Harvey, LA. This role involves supervising daily nitrogen pumping operations with a strong focus on safety, customer service, and field efficiency. The Field Supervisor will conduct field safety inspections, ensure compliance with Airgas policies and regulatory guidelines, and lead, train, and mentor field associates. They will also communicate operational status and challenges to the District Manager, support job readiness by managing paperwork, fuel purchases, equipment troubleshooting, and field certifications, and maintain a safety-first culture. The position requires frequent travel, operating equipment in unconditioned environments, managing projects, and maintaining a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 years of industry experience
  • Working knowledge of nitrogen pumping equipment and products
  • Current CDL with Tanker endorsement
  • Must obtain a Hazmat endorsement and TWIC card within 90 days of hire date
  • Ability to travel frequently (roughly 80% travel) and work on-call/shift work

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily nitrogen pumping operations with a strong focus on safety, customer service, and field efficiency.
  • Conduct field safety inspections and ensure compliance with Airgas policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Lead, train, and mentor field associates while providing ongoing performance evaluations and feedback.
  • Communicate operational status, challenges, and process improvements directly with the District Manager.
  • Support job readiness by managing paperwork, fuel purchases, equipment troubleshooting, and field certifications.
  • Maintain a safety-first culture through observations, safety meetings, and adherence to company and OSHA standards.
  • Operate nitrogen pumping units safely, monitor equipment performance (pressure, temperature, flow rates), and perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and minor mechanical repairs.
  • Conduct training and certifications for new operators on safe equipment operations.
  • Lead and discipline pumping associates, and provide personnel recommendations to the Operations Manager.
  • Supervise projects with a strict focus on safety, conduct Field Safety Inspections, and promote a strong safety culture through JSAs, Near Miss reporting, and safety observations.
  • Perform general administrative tasks, report regulatory compliance issues to leadership, and efficiently manage, organize, and prioritize workflows.
