This position is responsible for providing skilled emergency and non-emergency medical services and rescue activities within the Marble Falls Area EMS (MFAEMS) service area. This includes responding to emergency medical calls, fire safety assists, hazardous material incidents, and rescue scenes to save lives and reduce morbidity. The role also involves maintaining emergency medical vehicles, equipment, and facilities to ensure operational readiness. Additionally, Field Staff will assist in coordinating specialized programs such as safety, disaster response, logistics, special operations, training, public education, advanced medical assistance, mentoring, quality improvement, volunteer agency coordination, and mass casualty management. Ensuring personnel safety and accountability, completing required training, and assisting leadership in ensuring compliance with MFAEMS policies, procedures, and emergency medical services regulations and protocols are key aspects of the role. Safely operating emergency ambulances and other light duty emergency medical response vehicles, assuming incident command or leadership positions as required for managing emergency scenes (including multi-patient or complex rescue scenarios), and responding as needed during off-duty and emergent periods are also responsibilities. The position may involve filling in for Captains and Lieutenants, providing advanced life support pre-hospital patient care, assessing and requesting resources during emergency operations, and working collaboratively with fire departments and law enforcement agencies. The role also assists the Command Team in training, QA/QI development and implementation, policy and procedure development, medical scope of practice development, evaluating EMS effectiveness, maintenance and repairs of EMS vehicles and property, and conferring with officials on matters of mutual interest.
