About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose problems, and repair equipment safely and effectively to avoid downtime. The role works on a variety of makes, models, and equipment, potentially in remote locations. The fleet varies by location and may include aerial work platforms, general construction tools and equipment, and specialty equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas equipment. The position offers on-the-job training and opportunities to develop skills for a career in service or operations management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors as required.
- A CDL license may be required in some locations; minimum age of 21 may apply in those locations.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training.
- Three to five years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty-lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
- Mechanic's tools of the trade may be needed.
- Bilingual ability (Spanish or another language) may be required based on location needs.
