About The Position

The Solar Field Service Technician is responsible for safe, productive, day-to-day onsite operations at commercial and utility-scale solar PV plants. The role performs preventive maintenance and inspections, troubleshoots issues, and makes repairs to maximize plant production. Field Service Technician 1 is a foundational role in ACT's ACTivate Technician Track, developing technical skills, safety competency, and familiarity with company culture under the supervision of senior technicians and Field Leadership. The technician supports preventive and corrective maintenance and inspection of solar modules, trackers, inverters, and medium-voltage equipment while consistently demonstrating safe work behavior. The position may be filled through direct external hire or internal promotion; prior service in another ACTivate Technician Track position is not required. Work is performed mostly outdoors at job sites, some of which have offices available. The technician must be able to work in inclement weather. The role requires travel of around 20%, and on-call work during off-shift hours and weekends as needed. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with extended hours and rotating weekend on-call duty.
