About The Position

The Field Service Technician applies mechanical aptitude to perform maintenance and repairs to all heavy equipment rentals and scissor lift equipment in the shop and at customer job sites; applies troubleshooting techniques and determines proper repair procedures; prepares parts requisitions. The role requires excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, intermediate mechanical aptitude, and the ability to perform repairs safely. The technician must be able to work independently and as part of a team, interact professionally with customers and personnel, and be a strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skills. A self-directed and well-organized individual with the ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service is desired. The ability to learn and apply new knowledge, proficiency in technical software, databases, and manuals, and the capacity to function well in a fast-paced environment are essential. The role also involves promoting a positive customer experience and performing other assigned job tasks and functions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Valid Driver's License with clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within construction or equipment rental industry.
  • Two or more years of previous hands-on equipment and/or engine experience, diagnostics and troubleshooting experience working with rental equipment.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and a high level of personal credibility and integrity with customers, management, and dealership co-workers.
  • Maintain company and product confidentiality.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic understanding of computers and software such as Microsoft Office Suite and other web-based applications.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Must have intermediate mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to perform repairs safely.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to interact professionally with customers and all levels of personnel within the organization.
  • Must be a strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Must be self-directed and well organized with the ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service.

  • Must be able to work any shift and overtime as needed to meet business and customer demands.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of rental and customer heavy equipment with precision and expertise.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on-site or in the shop.
  • Travel to customer jobsites to provide top-notch repair and maintenance services.
  • Prepare parts requisitions.
  • Promote positive customer experience.
  • Other job tasks and functions as assigned.
