About The Position

Rivian is hiring an emerging-to-mid-level Field Service Technician to support electric vehicle repairs, inspections, and field service operations while developing technical skills under the mentorship of senior technicians and leadership. The role is based primarily at a local service center, but may also include mobile service, remote work, or production-plant support as business needs change. The schedule is Monday through Friday with rotational Saturdays, from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. The position includes a 15% pay differential for hours worked between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. The hourly pay range for Florida applicants is $23.63–$32.54. A successful candidate may also be eligible for an annual performance bonus. Rivian offers a benefits package to eligible full-time and part-time employees and their covered family members. Requirements

Be at least 21 years old.
Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, with no suspensions or revocations within the past 3–5 years.
Be available for a standard 40-hour workweek, including potential weekend, holiday, early morning, evening, or overnight shifts based on business needs.
Be flexible to travel to regional locations or production facilities as needed.
Be proficient with laptops and computers in Windows or Mac environments and with work order management systems.
Demonstrate eagerness to learn, organizational and time-management skills, and strong attention to detail.
Be able to perform physical tasks including sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Have foundational knowledge of basic electricity theory, awareness of high- and low-voltage systems, basic circuit measurement tools such as a DVOM, and introductory electrical schematic reading.
Have familiarity with basic hand and power tools, entry-level tire repairs, and basic vehicle alignments.
Have a basic understanding of diagnostic workflows and troubleshooting steps under guidance.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma, GED, or recognized equivalency credential.
Ability to drive a non-commercial truck and trailer.
Graduation from an accredited automotive repair school or program.
0–3 years of hands-on experience in an automotive shop or technical environment; recent graduates are welcome.
Basic exposure to electric vehicle or hybrid frameworks, or experience in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

Perform or assist with assigned vehicle diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections at a service center, on a mobile route, or at a remote location.
Learn to identify and explain Rivian’s product line, EV framework, tools, and accessories, building peer relationships while working under senior technicians’ mentorship.
Use available technical resources and follow repair procedures efficiently while maintaining quality and safety.
Conduct post-repair vehicle road tests to verify repair quality and operational safety.
Assist with parts operations, including ordering, receiving, shipping, inventory tracking, and work order and expense reporting.
Maintain detailed technical notes and documentation for completed and in-process repairs.
Interact professionally with customers, families, third-party affiliates, and suppliers at service facilities and outreach events.
Identify process improvements, provide constructive feedback to mentorship leads, and participate in service campaigns or containment initiatives.
Participate in required training, maintain current technical skills, and increase the quality of work performed with minimal supervision as experience grows.
