About The Position

The Field Service Technician plays a vital role in installing and servicing on-site nitrogen generation plants and bulk medical or industrial gas systems in a safe and operationally effective manner, in accordance with all federal, state/provincial and local codes, and Airgas policies. Install, place in operation, maintain, inspect, test, trouble-shoot and repair equipment at customer sites to support the safe, effective and efficient delivery of our products to customer's point of use while prioritizing integrated service activities to maximize time spent working on equipment at customer locations. Serve as a key point of contact/coordination between company and customer to support all requirements safely, efficiently and economically while coordinating activities with outside service providers, customer service engineering, sales and distribution on installations/removals. Perform in the above capacities specifically for Air Liquide America's applicable equipment including oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen, helium and carbon dioxide liquid and gas storage systems; customer distribution/regulation systems; applications equipment; telemonitoring equipment; instrumentation; and FLOXAL systems including air compressors: various small on-site nitrogen generation systems and mechanical refrigeration systems. We look for a commitment to achieving excellent quantity/quality/cost of service work performed, completing paperwork in a timely, accurate and completed fashion. Ideally, you bring care and stewardship toward the use of company assets, secure necessary documentation of work performed (installations, removals), compile billing information (if applicable) and total related costs of all work performed. All work must be performed in conformance with established safety procedures while ensuring customer satisfaction with the appearance/operation of every installation.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of diagnostic and repair experience required in some or all of the following: Cryogenics, high pressure piping, brazing, electrical circuits (including 3 phase power), refrigeration (EPA certified in refrigerant recovery), PLCs (programmable logic controllers), and process instrumentation.
  • Ability to be on call 24/7 on a rotating schedule unless scheduled off for vacation.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather and travel with approximately 15% overnight stays.
  • Currently holds a valid driver's license allowing operation of a vehicle up to 10,000 lb. GVW (with clean driving record).
  • Excellent written/verbal communicator.
  • Must be able to deal effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to comply with all applicable governmental and Air Liquide America and Airgas policies, regulations, and procedures; knows/applies all applicable standards for current good manufacturing practice set forth by the CGA, NFPA, CMA and other professional/regulatory bodies.
  • Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • College or Technical degree highly preferred
  • Prior experience with installing, maintaining, and removing customer site installations unassisted.
