About The Position

Reiser is seeking an experienced field service technician to install new equipment and provide routine maintenance/service to their customers. The ideal candidate will have strong electro-mechanical skills, a customer service-oriented personality, and be smart, energetic, hard-working, and enjoy their work. Requirements

  • Five (5) plus years of maintenance experience -- servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of electro-mechanical automated machinery.
  • Practical application of mechanical and electrical engineering principles and techniques to ensure equipment performance at manufacturers specifications.
  • Advanced knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic power systems, conveyor systems, or control systems.
  • Initiative, critical thinking, complex problem solving, judgement and decision making, persistence, attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, concern for others and leadership.
  • 60-70% travel during the week (Mon-Fri) during training, 60-70% travel after training.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods on airplane or in an auto to reach job destinations.
  • Must be able to have manual dexterity to operate equipment and tools required on the job.
  • Must be able to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
  • Must be able to quickly respond (with the hand, finger or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience of maintenance, installation, service and diagnosing issues/repairs on automated food processing and packaging machinery is preferred.
  • Food Processing or Packaging Machinery experience is desired.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish skills is desired.
  • Travel to the islands will be required for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Apply troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical skills, and knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic control systems to install and maintain processing & packaging machinery.
  • Provide preventive maintenance and on-site equipment repair.
  • Travel 80% (Mon-Fri) away from home visiting food plants primarily in the Southwest Region of the country, potentially traveling beyond the territory as required. After training, travel will reduce to 60-70% (Mon-Fri).
  • Read diagrams, schematic drawings, engineering specifications, and service manuals to determine work procedures.
  • Engage with customers on site, analyze equipment performance, troubleshoot to isolate problems, and determine actions needed to restore system to performance specifications.
  • Share information with team members, customers, and supervisors to help prioritize and keep customers apprised of corrective actions and equipment status.
  • Inform customers of routine preventive maintenance techniques.
  • Participate as necessary in new projects to install or improve the safety and performance of existing and new equipment.
