As a Field Service Technician, you get to work with an astonishing team that plays a vital role in Carl Zeiss Industrial Quality Solutions, LLC. Show case your skills and experience with a focus on installation, calibration and servicing of custom sensors and equipment. You will interact with customers and cross functional service groups that support and launch ZEISS products into the field. Office will be in the Wixom, MI area, with 75% or more travel to customer locations throughout the contiguous United States

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, or equivalent technical training (e.g., Military Technical School), or 4 years of related experience.
  • Microsoft operating system knowledge is required.
  • Capable of unassisted physical lift of one article weighing up to 70 pounds.
  • Successful candidates will need to acquire or currently possess a valid US Passport
  • Able and willing to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to work in an industrial production shop floor environment.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Excellent communication and customer service aptitude

Nice To Haves

  • Experience installing or troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines, or computer systems.
  • Prior experience working with hand tools, computer hardware, computer software, and basic electrical test equipment

Responsibilities

  • Learn to install, repair, troubleshoot, service, and calibrate Optical and metrology equipment by assisting senior technicians through on-the-job (OJT) and classroom training.
  • Support senior technicians as needed during customer site visits.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills, professionalism, and dedication.
  • Show aptitude for learning high-tech mechanical and electronic systems, including Optical.
  • Deliver clear, accurate service documentation to customers, including completed work and follow-up recommendations.
  • Submit timely and accurate expense reports.
  • Manage individual spare parts and consumables inventory in line with budget guidelines.
  • Work independently with a solutions-oriented mindset in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Travel up to 80–100%, including possible international travel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
