About The Position

Wavetronix is seeking a Field Service Technician to join their team, focusing on traffic solutions, Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS), DOT, IMSA, and Smart Sensors. This role involves professionally walking customers through the installation, training, and support of new and existing Wavetronix products. The technician will provide service and customer support through field visits and phone calls, manage on-site installation and configuration, diagnose and resolve technical issues, and provide product training. The position requires building positive, long-term relationships with customers and ensuring excellent service. The role supports customers throughout the New England region (Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine) with approximately 60% travel, potentially more based on project needs. A company vehicle is provided.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel approximately 60% of the time, with additional travel required based on project needs
  • Technical degree or certifications in ITS/Traffic industry
  • Basic understanding of networking
  • Previous field service experience in traffic signal/ITS cabinets
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt workflow to changing project schedules
  • Willing and able to travel to multiple locations
  • Demonstrate functional knowledge to troubleshoot, test, repair and service Wavetronix technical equipment
  • Able to effectively use mobile tools and applications
  • Have a positive relationship with Wavetronix customers
  • Able to understand and effectively communicate technical procedures and processes to customers
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations to the client
  • Effectively communicate and cooperate with Technical Services and share information across the organization
  • Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment
  • Demonstrate functional knowledge of Wavetronix non-core product line
  • Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, and demonstrate all Wavetronix products
  • Learn intersection and controller cabinet basic operation
  • Perform at least five solo technical customer visits
  • Communicate effectively via email, phone, and in person
  • Willing to get their hands dirty and solve the customer's problem, document the problem, and teach others how they solved that problem

Responsibilities

  • Provide service and customer support during field visits and phone support
  • Help manage all on-site installation/configuration of products
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
  • Demonstrate and troubleshoot Wavetronix products
  • Provide technical training (typically up to 10 people) on products as needed either in the field or in office
