About The Position

The Mechanical/Electrical Installation Technician is responsible for providing mechanical and electrical installation activities for Comecer equipment with our North American (NA) customers. This role involves performing the installation of mechanical assemblies, electrical components, cables, and wires, as well as pneumatic lines and devices. The markets served include Radiopharma, Pharma, and Cell & Gene Therapy (ATMP) projects in North America, encompassing a wide range of specialized equipment and systems.

Requirements

  • At least a two-year Industrial Technical diploma with Mechanical/Electrical emphasis or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components.
  • Ability to read drawings is essential.
  • Must be able to work in a multi-disciplined environment, often under pressure and strict time constraints.
  • Experience in dealing with customers to resolve problems is required.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills with fluency in English.
  • Possesses excellent time-management skills.
  • Resilient, ability to remain calm under pressure, self-driven, attentive to detail, consistent, and process driven.
  • Must be eligible and able to travel domestically & internationally within 30 days from hire date.
  • Legally eligible to operate a vehicle, as this is an essential job function.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical installation activities, including material preparation, assembly, on-site testing, disassembly, installation at the customer's site, and subsequent testing.
  • Assemble mechanical components using assembly and detail drawings, following company diagrams, instructions, and installation and operation manuals.
  • Install electrical and controls components using electrical and pneumatic schematics, assembly and detail drawings, and following company diagrams, instructions, and installation and operation manuals.
  • Wire and label components according to electrical and pneumatic schematics.
  • Report, document, and communicate non-conformities, malfunctions, or production defects to the installation and commissioning manager or other Comecer supervision.
  • Make adjustments using provided tools and equipment (e.g., wrenches, drill, screwdriver, grinder, welders) for internal production products or improvements according to technical specifications.
  • Carry out functional testing of subassemblies for machine performance (FAT and SAT) with assistance.
  • Perform disassembly and packaging of machinery.
  • Maintain orderliness of materials, assigned or common equipment, and cleaning of workstations in compliance with safety regulations and 5S methods.
  • Ship and receive customer orders, stock shipments, and installation equipment.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, vendors, and customers.
  • Seek opportunities to expand network and promote Comecer and ATS brands.
  • Continually seek technical and product training.
  • Work in compliance with divisional health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts.
  • Report defects in any equipment or protective device.
  • Ensure required protective equipment is used for assigned tasks.
  • Attend all required health, safety, and environmental training.
  • Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor.
  • Assist in investigating accidents/incidents.
