Field Service Technician I (Weekends/2nd: 2:00PM - 10:00PM) Shift
About The Position
The Field Service Technician I performs functions related to preparing a wide range of rental and customer-owned medical products for patient use. Duties include cleaning, disinfecting, operational function checks, and minor repairs of Baxter and non-Baxter products. The technician moves and inspects medical products at Baxter service centers, healthcare facilities, and private homes, and may demonstrate product use to hospital staff, caregivers, and others. The schedule is Thursday–Monday or Friday–Tuesday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM. The role provides on-call service coverage, potentially 24/7, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver's license.
- Obtain and maintain a required DOT physical card.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 65 pounds using proper safety and ergonomic procedures.
- Ability to work the stated schedule and provide on-call coverage, including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Move and inspect medical products at Baxter service centers, healthcare facilities, and private homes.
- Load and unload products and maneuver medical equipment within truck beds.
- Troubleshoot equipment and evaluate needed repairs.
- Clean and perform preventive maintenance on Baxter products.
- Provide on-call coverage, potentially 24/7, including weekends and holidays, and visit customer accounts as needed.
- Use a smartphone, tablet, or PC to enter or retrieve information.
- Demonstrate how to use Baxter products to hospital staff, caregivers, and other participants.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including 5S activities.
- Safely operate a company vehicle ranging from a cargo van to a 26,000-pound truck.
- Wear required personal protective equipment and complete safety, compliance, and medical testing requirements.
