Reporting to the Field Service Manager, the Field Service Technician is responsible for delivery of high-quality customer service, performing preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of Hach devices located at our customer sites. The customer base for this role is anticipated to be a combination of municipal (i.e., drinking and wastewater treatment facilities) and industrial (i.e., power plants and food and beverage plants). This role will be based in the Philadelphia area and supports our customers throughout the territory. Daily travel to customer sites with up to 75% overnight stays. Company-paid travel, accommodations, and meals are provided for overnight stays.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a travel-based field service and/or customer-facing roles strongly preferred.
  • HS Diploma required; Associates/technical degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude is a must - experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics/repair is helpful but not required.
  • A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to rent a car and/ or hotel rooms under applicable state law are required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation using established company standard work.
  • Promotes a positive customer experience and serves as on-site customer contact for technical and service-related problems.
  • Work in a wide variety of municipal and industrial settings, including but not limited to drinking water & wastewater treatment facilities, refineries, chemical manufacturing plants, food & beverage processing facilities, etc....Some applications may involve instrument servicing in NEC hazardous locations (Class I Division 2).
  • Submits prompt, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure.
  • Follows safe work practices according to company policy.
  • Executes administrative activities in support of service visits.
