About The Position

ProMach is seeking a talented Field Service Technician/Assembler to join their team. This role involves providing technical field support to customers, ensuring machine performance, and maintaining strong customer loyalty. The position requires a blend of technical installation, start-up, troubleshooting, and repair skills, as well as the ability to train customer personnel. During periods without field assignments, the technician will support assembly tasks in the shop. This role offers opportunities for travel and requires flexibility between field and shop operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical background with custom machine start-up/repair/maintenance experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers.
  • Ability to read & understand engineering designs, including wiring schematics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software for technical reports and training requirements.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills and a strong customer service focus.
  • Good problem-solving skills and independent judgment.
  • Ability to conduct a high-level training program with customer personnel on equipment.
  • Ability to work independently, maintain a positive attitude and work well with all levels of management and operators.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, both domestic and internationally.
  • Non-travel time will be spent working in the plant.
  • Preferred 3 years of experience in Equipment Manufacturing.
  • Preferred 3 years of experience in Machine Repair.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation at customer location (electrical and mechanical) of Pace automated unscrambling machinery.
  • Perform in-factory startup/commissioning of Pace machinery at customer location.
  • Troubleshoot and make adjustments to achieve machine efficiency rates per the contract.
  • Train plant personnel on machinery operation and maintenance.
  • Perform in-factory repair/servicing of Pace machinery at customer location, including troubleshooting, adjustments, audits, and upgrade installations.
  • Generate detailed service reports.
  • Engage with customers to identify aftermarket sales opportunities (upgrades, retrofits, service, spare parts).
  • Set up and testing of variable frequency drives and servo controllers.
  • Build, set up, and perform factory acceptance testing on new equipment at the manufacturing facility.
  • Provide support in the shop as an Assembler during periods when field assignments are not scheduled.
  • Work flexibly between field and shop operations, assisting with assembly tasks in the shop when not performing field duties.
